How Much to Move my Car to the UK !

Yes I know you probably think I am nuts, why the hell would I want to ship my car to the UK from New Zealand? I mean its just a shitty little Nissan Sunny after all.

But seriously though, how much would it cost?

Many people get attached to their cars and I am no different, its worse when you have a bloody reliable one with a bulletproof engine and you are reluctant to give it up. If it were not too much to chuck it in a shipping container along with my PC, Couch TV etc then I reckon I would do it if the price was right.

I bet you any money that when I do eventually move and buy another car, the bloody thing will break down in no time!

Anyone out there done this International moving thing? if so, please let me know!

I just saw this story on TVNZ and felt that I had to at least acknowledge this story in my own way. The western world is constantly concerned about 'image" and this amazing woman has proved that it is what is on the inside that matters...

When I heard that her husband basically blew her face off with a gun, I was shocked! I was shocked to see her face and was shocked to see how it looked before... I dont think I would ever have the bravery to do what she did and stand up to be filmed for all to see.

The fact that she did so has sent a message that we should not worry about our image so much and just get on with life...

The United States' first-ever face transplant patient today publicly thanked the doctors who performed her surgery after a devastating 2004 shooting incident left her disfigured and unable to eat or breathe on her own.

Five months after surgery, the first U.S. transplant patient tells her story


"Well, I guess I'm the one you came to see today," 46-year-old Connie Culp of Ohio said at a press conference at the Cleveland Clinic, where a team of surgeons performed the surgery five months ago. "While I know you all want to focus on me, I think it's more important you focus on the donor family that made it so I could have this Christmas present, I guess I should say."


The 23-hour surgery, which took place over two days in December 2008, garnered widespread media attention shortly after it was completed. The operation was the world's fourth foray into face transplantation surgery. Culp's identity was not released at the time of the surgery, but today she introduced herself to reporters by her first name.

Currently, doctors are waiting to see how much function Culp will regain as the nerves in the graft continue to regenerate.

Wolfram Alpha : Is it going to Kill Google ?

The biggest internet revolution for a generation will be unveiled this month with the launch of software that will understand questions and give specific, tailored answers in a way that the web has never managed before.

The new system, Wolfram Alpha, showcased at Harvard University in the US last week, takes the first step towards what many consider to be the internet's Holy Grail – a global store of information that understands and responds to ordinary language in the same way a person does.

Seriously? I guess you never know, I look forward to testing it out and seeing if I can crash it! I dont think Google will have a great deal to worry about though, they or some other company could just buy the technology if the author permits...

Because I am a geek and very good at typing in the correct mixture of keywords when searching online, I do not know if this type of tech will benefit me... need to wait and see though..

War Memorial Moved for new trams in Edinburgh

So Many People have been moaning about the new Edinburgh trams and although I do not live in Edinburgh anymore and I am not inconvenienced about it, I think that its a great idea and a worthwhile project. People need to accept a little inconvenience in the name of progress, no?

Work is due to begin later to remove a famous Edinburgh landmark to make way for work on the city's tram network.

The Heart of Midlothian Memorial Monument will be removed from the busy Haymarket junction and put in to storage for the next two years.
