For the senior service, this is surely a major PR success and a great way to see the UK taxpayers money at work.Personally, if I were stranded in Europe and I had the choice of returning to the UK on a plane or a warship, c'mon there is no choice.
Hopefully the powers that be actually do this. Imagine the delight on all those kids faces when they are told that they will be returning home on board one of Britain's mighty warships.
I also bet that the Royal Navy would receive a sharp rise in applications shortly thereafter.
Just make sure that you keep an extra eye on the ASBO's. I am sure there will be quite a few of them trying to get home as well.
Do it Britain, do it for the publicity if nothing else!
