The Defence Force is Ill Equipped for combat according to a report by the Defence Force revealed today.No Surprises there. Money is being spent on merely extending the life of old equipment in the Airforce and the Navy are still waiting for new Ships. Patrol ships at that.
The Airforce had "insufficient personnel" to meet air and ground crew levels and it was only "partially prepared" for complex maritime air operations.
The NZDF is lacking the personnel and equipment required to do its job, any job in fact.
The next NZ government needs to decide if it should spend money on the NZDF and let it become a credible force in the air, land and sea once again, or just get rid of it completely and let NZ become a 100% defenceless nation it already is well on its way to becoming.
Is that too harsh?
