Hurricane Ike, Train Crash in L.A., Property company bail outs and Financial doom on Wall Street, it all seems to be happening at once in the worlds Largest Economy and the effects will be felt far beyond the borders of the United States of America.The financial crisis that has been developing in Wall Street has already got people worried here in New Zealand, our own NZX Stock Exchange has crashed 42 points today and things look bleak!
Perhaps the Great Depression of 1929 could be repeating itself, but this time unfortunately the world economy seems far more reliant on each other and countries are far more intertwined these days.
Living at the arse end of the planet sometimes has its advantages, but I don't think we will be untouched this time.
Better get my money out of the bank and put it under my mattress.
